Meet Mitt

"I do not know this man," Claud replied to Sam before raising his voice in greeting to the traveler. "Sir! Are you lost? May we guide you towards town?" It was impossible to tell in the dim and at this distance, but he had the vague look of a priest or a hunter, but of course, it was impossible to say. This traveler could just as easily be a threat as a friend, so Claud tightened his grip on his nocked arrow all the same.

Mitt was lying on the ground after the werewolf jumped him, pinning him down. Before he could attempt to wriggle his way out of it, the wolf was no longer on top of him.



Mitt dragged the sword back to him, cutting the beast further as it fell to all four. He was breathing heavily now "You, children, stay away." he shouted to the bunch "It can try infect you before death." he added in the best German he knew, hoping he could relay the message clearly.

Once the immediate threat had been dealt with Gladys moved from the shadows towards the trees, still watching her brother and the other two men. Werewolves are truly pitiable creatures, she thought as she moved deeper among the plants, but still close enough to dart out and help should another threat come. As long as her fool brother was out and relatively unprotected she would be keeping him in her sight.

The only bright spot in witnessing this whole ordeal was that Gladys could at least confirm to Maebh that her mother had died, and wasn't just lost and wandering. There were few things as difficult as endlessly searching and not knowing, but she did not relish the thought of delivering the news.

Claud shuddered hard. The priest had raised up an almost human head after he felled the wolf--Claud didn't know that happened when were-folk died. Still keeping his bow on the ready he looked about for other threats; surely the scent of blood would bring things lurking. Gladys, however, was no where to be seen, though he was fairly certain she was still close. After clearing his throat he called to the priest, "Stranger, we should seek the safety of the church before anything else discovers us."

It took Mitt a few moments to process, the familiar face that stared blankly, unmistakably her's. He knew he was tracking remnants of a pack that had scattered, but he never thought-- it's been so long-- he didn't think that it would happen.
<"A-Aideen..."> he said in a whisper, so low it might as well have looked like he just mouthed a word. A feeling he couldn't quite figure out washed over him. He knew she had deserved it, he wasn't hesitant about that.
It was her own fault after all. SHE was the one who wanted the marriage, SHE decided to run away, SHE decided to take Maebh with her, SHE--
Mitt's heart sank as he realized that if this is unmistakably Aideen, then there is a chance Maebh is-- no. His daughter would've grown to understand this woman was crazy, leave her, wouldn't she?
But if she is here, then he would have to uphold his promise and duty as a hunter. After all those years, was he really ready?


"Yes, but I need return soon. To burn the body too." He replied as he grabbed the severed head again. Seeing the reaction of one of the young men, he quickly went to pull a cloth from the bag attached to his horse. Wrapping it and holding onto it with one of his hands.
"Thank you for help. I'm Father Coleman, please do show way to the church." he gestured with his free hand for the young man to lead the way.
