Reluctance of Comfort

Christian nodded ever so slightly when Koby gave his jumbled report. Not because he agreed but because he was taking mental note of the bits of information.
There was not much information tho. The boy clearly needed a bit of time to recover. Christian gently took the left arm of the boy and guided it through the unfastened loop of the suspenders Koby was wearing. The red-headed priest gracefully ignored the other one on the ground praising the boy's effort of putting himself in danger.
Since he was facing mostly Koby, because he was fixing the young man's appearance his eye rolling was hard to spot when Father Ballad spoke again. Village priests. Always so dramatic. Christian brushed out some wrinkles ouf of Koby's shirt and turned around with a small smile to the other priests, after Father Ballad had finished.

“Yes, very nice speech, Father. Thank you for sowing worry and fear in our rounds. The vampire is dead now isn't it? So why the panic? The boy is safe and it could have been much worse.”

It WAS concerning, however, that a vampire would disguise himself as a man of the faith. Wouldn't that put him at a disadvantage? Christian let his thoughts explore this topic a little, not breaking his small smile and let his gaze wander over the faces of the other attendees, trying to read their expressions and reactions.
